Um, Dateline?

So I'm sitting here watching Dateline's To Catch a Predator online on their website, and they're talking about this software engineer for the defense department. He's a 34 year-old dude named Loren Hayden, and he thought he was chatting online with a 13-year-old girl. He claims he looks like Brad Pitt and has a giant wang, and to prove it, he sends the girl (really an undercover decoy) a picture of his giant unit. Dateline shows us the picture he sent the girl, and like always, they blur it out.

Only this time they blur in the wrong place. I do not know if the aired version of Dateline tonight showed the penis head or not. But the webcast most certainly does.

Here is a screencap. It's a 3/4ths blurred picture of a penis, but they completely miss the head, so obviously, you probably shouldn't click on this if you're at work. It's only on the screen for about two seconds, but that's enough. It's on screen just as long as Janet Jackson's nipple was, and about as exposed as it was, too.

In the scheme of things, it's not a big deal at all. I'm not a prude or anything like that, but this does raise some interesting questions. Is the head of the penis like cleavage now? It's okay to show as long as you don't show the... er... (click, click webmd.com .... click, click. Um, barf. click, click) urethral orifice?

Lil' Kim gets away with showing everything as long as the nipple is covered. Maybe Dateline is on to something here. Holy cow. Maybe they did it on purpose. Maybe they're making a stand for men's rights!

If that's the case, Dateline, I am standing up and applauding you right now. It was about time someone tackled the issue of penile suffrage.
